Another small update. Did another speed paint yesterday, it took roughly 30 minutes to make:

If you’d like to watch how I paint, check out this time lapsed recording of me painting for 20 minutes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xjvptnI7SGk

Here’s the final image I painted in that video:

EDIT::

Here’s another picture I just made in 40 minutes:

Well instead of doing a speed paint, I’ve decided to go and refine the image I made yesterday and polish it up more. I’d like to go more into detail, but I always get stuck with details and I don’t know what all I should add more to it…

Here’s what came out:

Sorry if most of you aren’t into the whole sci-fi scene, but it seems to be the subject of a majority of the work I’ve made lately.

:)

I’ve found a couple anatomy books, so I’ll probably be doing studies from them soon enough, I just have to find the patience.

Hello.

I figure the best way to start off a blog would be to introduce myself. I don’t know what the target audience is of this particular website, but the only one’s I’ve viewed were that of people over the age of 30. I don’t know if I fit in here or not, but oh well. Here goes.

Hello, my name is Brian. I’m an artist in the making. As you may or may not be confused by my user name, please don’t. It doesn’t stand for anything, it’s just a name. It’s actually pronounced "Rhu/Roo+nick". That’s usually the first thing I’m asked, so I thought I’d throw that out there asap. If you’re wondering how I managed to come up with such a name, it’s actually not my own thinking.

A while back I had stumbled upon a "Lord of the Rings" name generator, where you would input basic info about yourself and then it’d choose a Human, Elf, Orc, etc., name for you. My human name happened to be "Rhunyc." I loved the sound of it, so I made it my permanent online persona. I realize it’s confusing, but it’s unique, and that’s why I love it, because my real name is EXTREMELY common (Brian Jackson).

On to another subject of my introduction; why I decided to make a blog on here and what it’ll entail.

The reason why I thought a blog would be useful is so that I can use it to develop myself in a routine fashion… I’d like to work towards developing myself as an artist, and the best way to do that is to constantly practice and develop by trying something every day. What I’d like to utilize this for, is to do a day-by-day posting of the work I create, to track my progress.

So without further delay, here’s a 30 minute speed painting I had done today, for practice:

When I do these speed paints, keep in mind that it’s all from imagination, unless I specifically say otherwise or do any studies.
